Efficacy. LEDs turn 100–200 lumens per watt into light, far above incandescent (~15 lm/W) and well above fluorescent and HID.

Instant, flicker-free light. No warm-up, no restrike delay, smooth dimming to zero.
Directional emission. Light is aimed where needed, so little is lost inside reflectors and housings.
Rugged and solid-state. No filament, no arc tube, no glass envelope to shatter — shock and vibration tolerant.
Small and scalable. The same diode clusters scale from a single indicator to a seamless wall of any size.

Technical Note: Efficiency and Heat: The Governing Relations
Equation (1) computes luminous efficacy by weighting the radiated spectrum Φe(λ) with the photopic curve V(λ); the 683 lm/W ceiling is set by physics at 555 nm. Equation (2) gives the junction temperature rise: dissipated power times thermal resistance from junction to ambient - every watt not turned into light becomes heat, and heat accelerates everything in Equation (3), the exponential decay of output at rate α.
